The Hansen's are alive!!!

I know what you are all this really the Hansen's! Yes it is! We are alive and doing well. I know it has been along time since the last post. A lot has happened. There has been a lot of changes and a lot of adapting that has had to happen with our small family. I will over everything the next couple of weeks and get everyone up to speed as to all the changes that have transpired; believe me the past several months have been crazy.

Here are a few quick updates as to where we are at:

Mike is still cheap as ever :) I finally convinced him to get the Internet at our took several months but he finally gave in (this is why I am able to update the blog).

Some of you may recall back in December of 2009 Mike was laid off from his job in Utah. To make a long story short he could not find a new job in Utah and we decided to start looking out side the state. After several month of looking endlessly; we were finally able find work in Idaho with a company called Melaleuca. We have been living in Idaho Falls now for almost 18 is not as bad as I thought Idaho would be...I actually like it here. However, I do miss Utah and all my friends we made there over the years.

Kaiden will be turning 8 years old in July; he is in second grade and loving it. He told Mike and I tonight at dinner that her wants to be in the Army when he grows up so that he can drive a tank...he has been hanging out too much with his Dad.

Sage is energetic and full of life. She definitely keeps us on our toes. Our little princes will be 6 years old in August. She is super excited to start kindergarten next year.

As to me, I have had some health related issues since we left Utah. There were a few surgeries. Needless to say, I think we now have everything figured out now! I am felling really good and feel there wont be anymore set backs!

It is getting late and I need to go to sleep. I promise over the next couple of days I will update everyone with more information and photos so that you can see how much the kid-o's have grown.

Have a good night and I look forward to talking to everyone really soon.

My baby boy is no longer little!

Our son Kaiden lost his first two teeth this past week. Kaiden asked Mike why his teeth had to fall out.

My dear husband told him boys loose their teeth because they kiss to many girls. Kaiden looked at us and said "why are mine falling out, I have not kissed anyone but I need to stop?" It was precious.

The first one fell out while eating mashed potatoes for dinner. When he realized his tooth was gone he started to cry and said "look what your cooking did MOM!" It was one of the funniest sights that we have seen in a while. That night we put his tooth under his pillow and the Tooth Fairy brought him a pack of gum and $1. He was so excited for the second to come out so that her could get more money.

The second tooth caused some trauma when he lost it. We were swimming at the hotel pool in Idaho and he came out of the water missing his tooth...but it was no were to be found. Kaiden was upset because the tooth fairy wasn't going to come because he had no tooth to put under the pillow. He took action though and he left a note for the Tooth Fairy in hopes of getting more money for his missing tooth.

I had to post the note he left. I thought it was great. You know what it worked! He woke up with $1 under his pillow. I didn't know the Tooth Fairy would take notes.

I wonder what would happen if I were to leave a note asking for money :)

The New Addition Has Arrived!!!!

For the past couple of years my husband has been saying there is one more addition to our small family. Needless to say I have been ignoring these comments made by him and the kids and have denied them. I was serious about being done, how could we add more? This was the case until recently.

To make a long story short, with the help of my brother-in-law my husband and kids went ahead with a crafty plan. Last weekend while in Idaho they picked up the newest member of the Hansen Family. I would like to introduce you to our family dog Coco!

Oh how I love my KIDS!!!!

The other night we were signing Christmas songs as a family. You know the traditional ones, Jingle Bells, Rock-in around the Christmas Tree, Frosty the Snowman. Kaiden and Sage were having so much fun acting out the songs and acting like they new the words as they attempted to sing along. It was then I remembered one that I had heard recently on the radio...Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer.

My kids had never heard that song before. When I started to sing it, my five year old Kaiden stop singing and stood completely still, his big brown eyes were looking at me with an incredible worry, as tears began to form in the corner of his eyes. I stopped singing the song and looked at him wondering why he had gotten so quite and worried. After a long pause he looked at me and said only as a five year old could; "Which Grandma got ran over by Santa, will she be alright?"

I then spent the next few minutes explaining to him that it was just a song and that both Grandma's are fine. Kaiden had to call both of them and hear their voices to verify they were fine. Oh how I love my kids!!!

As we enter this Holiday season may it bring all of you the happiness and joy that it has brought to my family. Please take the time to enjoy the things that are really important and create those special memories with your loved ones.

It has been awhile...

First off, I need to apologize for not updating my blog in over a year. I have had every intention of doing so but never seemed to have the time to accomplish it. Mike, finally had enough of it and is making me sit down and do it. Thanks for your support sweetheart.

This past year has been, well, very interesting to say the least. I promise I will do a better job at keeping you all up-to-date as to what is going on as we enjoy the journeys of life.

I can not believe how quick our little family has grown. Kaiden has started kindergarten and is in wrestling. He loves learning and working on his wrestling moves with his dad and sister. Sage is now going to preschool; she is my little ball of energy. They sure do keep us going...I promise you there is never a dull moment in our home :)

As for Mike and I? Where do I begin? Over the past couple of years I have been experiencing some health issues. Well, this fall I went through a series of surgeries to correct some of these issues. I am proud to say that is worked...I am finally starting to feel better physically and this has helped me and my life in so many areas. We have been extremely blessed to have skilled doctors take care of me.

Mike has been volunteering at the local High School with the wrestling team and is loving it. This last weekend he went and helped coach the kids at a tournament and lost his voice. His voice is still going and can't talk very well...between us and my kids it has been nice not to hear him whine. :)
